What is Content-Based language in GETS?

Content-Based language is a module in GETS Primary, GETS Secondary and GETS Intermediate. It motivates students to learn English for school study and for the successful completion of academic tasks and for academic purposes. This module measures Cognitive Academic Language Proficiency which includes their understanding and use of appropriate, precise  and formal language for curricular subjects. Results of this assessment indicate the test-taker’s ability to use English for academic purposes.  The test is designed to assess a test-taker’s capabilities on the following: academic reading skills; subject-obligatory language; subject-specific vocabulary; task understanding and visual comprehension.
