What is CLIL?

CLIL is an acronym for Content and Language Integrated Learning. This is a dual-focused educational approach for teaching academic subjects through an additional language, thus simultaneously teaching content and language. The employment of CLIL in education plays an integral role in the promotion of 21st-century skills, including interpersonal, communication and language skills as well as cultural sensitivity. Its use is considered to be essential for both ‘the teacher and school of the future’.
